Knutsford Photographic Society(KPS):  Privacy Policy

This privacy policy sets out how Knutsford Photographic Society [KPS] uses and protects any personal information you give us when you join the club.

KPS is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.  Any personal information you give us will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

KPS may change this policy from time to time by updating this page.  You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.

We collect the following information when you join the club

  • Name
  • Contact information including; postal address, email address and telephone number
What we do with the information
  • Internal record keeping
  • We will periodically send emails and newsletters about new products, competitions, events offers or other information we think you may find interesting using the email address you have provided.
  • Contact details are currently entered on the club portal of the L&CPU website. This ensures members are eligible  to enter into federation competitions.  If you do not intend to enter competitions or wish the L&CPU to have this information, please let the club secretary know and your contact information will be removed from the L&CPU portal.

We do not give out your information to any third-party companies for marketing purposes.

We do not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

You have the right to unsubscribe from our emails at any time.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure.  To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

The data is managed by the Secretary and made available only to Committee Members when necessary for communication with Members and managing competitions.

For each member we record a title, first and second names, telephone numbers and postal address. Members can request a copy of their data by sending an email to the club Secretary and have the right to any rectification with a response within a calendar month. We will delete all information held about you within 12 months of you leaving the club.

The data is stored in an electronic format which is managed by the Secretary and accessible only to Committee Members.

A member’s name will be attached to any of their images on the KPS website.  It may also be provided to another Club or L&CPU if a member’s work is submitted to an external competition or shared on our social media channels.

All emails sent from the club will be sent to individual members using “bcc” to ensure that email address’s remain confidential from other recipients.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998.
